Creating structured environments for modern small business

A basic component for any modern small business -  here defined as less than 20 employees - requires a communications methodology designed for quick yet complex transactions.

The first component of the "Brooklyn Project" must therefore be the computerized information system ensuring data is reliable, accessible, arranged into decision-making information with a proper audit trail.

Due to my conversion on SaaS the last remnant of resistance is gone.

I own an e-commerce for 7 years now and have written complete business systems in pre-windows days. Therefore, I have access to real workflow and object definitions.

By keeping the number of employees under 20 for manufacturing and 12 for fulfillment bureaucracy is avoided. The information system reflects this and speeds the information through the internal structure as well as providing understandable information flow with outside vendors and contractors.

The Brooklyn Project information system for the IT part is scheduled to begin January 2010.

We are looking for programmers understanding the underpinnings of computer languages. It's all about objects, work-flow decisions, orthagonality, reusability, scalability, readability, and maintainability.

I plan to use Microsoft Partners as an important part of distribution and onsite maintenance. Therefore, knowledge of JavaScript, Dot Net, SQL Server, Visual Studio and other Microsoft development tools is important. And while know many of you have preferences for PHP or Ruby On Rails, Microsoft is very universal with continued tool development and many resources that may be important in the development and distribution processes.

If that makes sense to you please email: programming@gotellit.com.
